.about
I’m interested in how emerging technology becomes useful in the real world.
I’m a product builder based in London, originally from sunny Portugal. I studied mechanical engineering, started my career working with data and machine learning, and deliberately moved into product. That path still shapes how I build today — grounded in first principles and energised by turning complex technology into products people genuinely love to use.
I spent nearly five years at QuantumBlack, AI by McKinsey, working as a forward-deployed engineer building machine learning solutions to high-impact problems for Fortune 500 customers across life sciences and finance, with projects spanning the UK, UAE, Brazil, and the Netherlands. Alongside hands-on client work, I collaborated closely with product teams to feed real customer insight back into our core platforms. I was one of the first engineers in the Life Sciences AI product team, later became the first tech lead for Retail AI, and ultimately transitioned into a product management track focused on building AI developer tools.
In 2023, I joined a small team in Shoreditch with an ambitious goal: to build a Physics AI platform using geometric deep learning to accelerate physics simulation. As the first R&D hire at PhysicsX, I experienced the full arc of company building as the startup scaled. In the early days, I focused on laying the technical and product foundations — writing the first ML methods and sketching early wireframes. As the company grew, I led hiring across product and engineering and later stepped into a Head of Product role, defining the product roadmap and direction as the platform matured. Over those two and a half years, I led the development of a platform now deployed with enterprise customers across automotive, aerospace, and materials, and contributed to the company’s $32M Series A and $135M Series B fundraising efforts.
I left PhysicsX to build 0→1 once again — this time in the fast-moving world of coding agents — and joined Tessl. I’m now working on an agent enablement platform that helps developers generate and optimise context, evaluate agent behaviour, and gain better visibility into how coding agents perform in practice.
Beyond the work itself, what drives me is curiosity — a desire to understand how technology works and learn about the people around me. Living in six countries early in my career pushed me to adapt quickly, listen thoughtfully, and become comfortable operating in unfamiliar environments. I spend much of my free time reading, and recently, I’ve been learning how to draw — partly for fun, partly as a reminder that good things are built by observing closely and refining over time.
